Victorian Photographers

Mother and child, tinted albumen print in silk and velvet lined case, by James Mudd of Manchester,  early 1860s.

It is planned to develop this page as a location for intriguing, fascinating, or just downright confusing snippets of information about Victorian photography and photographers.

Over time, I plan to post questions here for which I am seeking answers.

Currently I am keen to hear from anyone who can add any information on Richard Lowe, or allow me to use scans of any of the images he produced at his Cheltenham studio, for a paper I hope to present towards the end of 2013. Can anyone out there add any information about him after his return to America?

I can be reached through the Contacts page.
